- EIONE ver. 0.6.1, the platform is now available.
An update for the THEIA II smartwatch operating system is now available for download via our AIRN CONNECT app. EIONE makes using the watch’s features even smoother and more intuitive. In addition, we will soon be offering new features, which will also be available for download via our app. If, as shown in the image, you see that a new version is available via the AIRN CONNECT app, please install it on your watch. This is a fairly large download, so we recommend using a Wi-Fi connection to ensure our secure server can transmit the data under optimal conditions. We are constantly working hard to provide you with even more accurate data.
- Journey undernath the Ice
Last month, we had the privilege of descending beneath the Mer de Glace glacier with Olivier Greber, President of the Chamonix Guides Company. It was an unforgettable experience; equipped with our ice axes and crampons, the glacier’s shapes and colors truly gave the impression that we were leaving solid ground behind.
We discovered that thanks to air bubbles trapped in the ice—which is hundreds of years old—and the latest-generation multi-band sensor, the GPS signal from our THEIA II smartwatch, even about 15 meters below the ice layer, still allows us to navigate. The watch’s mapping capabilities remain highly effective.
A huge thank you to the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix for this sublime journey.
- Partnership with ENSA
We partner with ENSA, the National School of Skiing and Mountaineering. ENSA has been based in Chamonix since 1947. It is recognized as the only training organization for mountain professionals in France. After signing an agreement with the Ministry of Sports, ENSA instructors and high-mountain guides are collaborating with our developers to continuously improve the performance of our smartwatches.
- Partnership with the EANS Foundation
Since the third quarter of 2025, we have been working closely with the European Association of Neurosurgeons, specifically with Professor Karl Schaller, head of department at the Geneva University Hospitals. Together with the University of Geneva (Faculty of Science), we were able to verify the accuracy of health data (heart rate, blood oxygen levels, accelerometer). We conducted a comparative test in collaboration with Professor Katarzyna Wac on “health and well-being” data. In addition, we secured all collected data on a physical server based in Geneva. We were also able to present the benefits of our smartwatch in Vienna, Austria, during the annual EANS congress. On that occasion, we were also able to highlight the “lifestyle” aspect of our watch. When worn in an urban setting, the watch is very elegant.
- Sea Trial of the THEIA II Smartwatch
The Air'N Outdoor team was able to test the accuracy of GPS tracks at sea, off the coast of the Levant Islands, on a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey sailboat equipped with Navionics charts. We were very pleased with how closely the recorded tracks matched the actual route. We found the boat to be very high-performing, particularly when sailing close-hauled. Sitting firmly on its chine, the boat plows safely through the water with all sails set in 15–20-knot winds, reaching speeds of nearly 8.5 knots.
- Review of the ski touring watch
It is usually in the hills above Ovronnaz, a small resort in Valais located on the right bank of the Rhône in Switzerland, that we test the altitude and GPS data from our smartwatch.
Ovronnaz is the starting point for many hikes, and the snow conditions there are often excellent. After a few ascents, at around 2,700 meters above sea level, the view of the 4,000-meter peaks of Valais and the Mont Blanc range is breathtaking. Whether facing northeast or south-southwest, after carefully checking the avalanche report and closely observing the terrain, an intense sense of joy is felt as you carve through endless turns before returning to civilization.
- Review of the THEIA II Smartwatch for Windfoiling
We are a team of sports enthusiasts, particularly those who love board sports. Windfoiling is an activity that offers an unparalleled experience on the water—the sensation of flying, of losing contact with the water. We’ve also verified the accuracy of GPS data in the Geneva harbor on Lake Geneva. As for equipment, we use a Tabou Fifty board and are very satisfied with it. About the sail, you’ll need about 1 m² less than with a traditional windsurf board. It’s best to place your front foot in the front footstrap before planing. It’s also possible to do it afterward, but it’s trickier because the board is sensitive to movement... Equipped with a 1050 cm² wing and a 7.50 m² sail, with a few knots of wind (around 12 knots) and some pumping, the foil lifts you out of the water (knowing that I my weight is around 79 kilos. The speed then stabilizes at around 17.5 knots. You can convert speed from km/h to knots using the AIRN CONNECT app.
- THEIA II smartwatch impact Resistance Test for Climbing
Accompanied once again by our trusted guides from the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix, we set out to test the watch’s shock resistance in the stunning Calanques of Marseille. Among other places, we climbed the magnificent limestone at Grande Candelle, on the Marseille Ridge, including a memorable section of the famous Pas Rébuffat. You’ll never forget these magnificent landscapes, nestled between the sea and the limestone cliffs. When climbing these cliffs, you quickly realize the value of our interchangeable protective lens. The hardest part is still choosing the photos from these trips...
Our selection:
Sormiou: Etron Fou, Dièdre Guem, Melody, Big Lebowsky, l'Hannulune (white limestone on a blue background)
Sugiton: Arête du Vallon (a beautiful view from the summit)
Grande Candelle: Arête de Marseille (including the famous "Pas Rebuffat")
Devenson: Voie du Baou Rouge Panoramique ( you will never forget the rapelling access)
Castevieil (En Vau): Traversée Ramond, Super Calanque, La Saphir (the beauty of En Vau)
Cap Canaille: Au gré du Grès, Traversée Supérieure, Vire des immortelles (layers of rocks in incredible colors)
